Team Name: VELOCITY VR-1
Driver / Throttle: Bob Spitulski / Stephen Kildahl / Steve Kildahl
Boat / Power: 2002 VELOCITY VR-1 / Innovation 425

On July 26, 2002, the new VELOCITY VR-1 set the APBA & UIM World Kilo Speed Record. Steve Kildahl and Bob Spitulski drove the record setting VR-1 with 500 Hp MerCruiser engines that were certified with accurate horse power. The Steve Stepp designed hull out ran all other manufactures' boats including stepped and ventilated bottom hull designs.

In 2005, the VELOCITY VR-1 Team kept breaking that record every year; they toped out at 80.95 mph with an Innovation built 425 HP Engine! Now that's cookin' with grease!! Once again the designed and built VELOCITY hull proved ultimate supremacy against all other hulls, including every "stepped and ventilated" hull entered.
